After a long time a Buildd.Net status update again! In short: it’s dying.
Some days/weeks ago there was a change in the backend files. The files that wanna-build outputs and that are parsed by Buildd.Nets scripts. Some kind user wrote this to me:
We’ve added a new state that the build-dependencies are not installable which replaces the old auto-depwait. So we now have a BD-Uninstallable state. Could you add that to your pages?
Basically yes, this can be added, but I don’t know where and how. I’ve already stated several times that the Buildd.Net scripts are a mess and that they need a rewrite and asked for help in maintaining Buildd.Net. From time to time someone was found but somehow each person/helping hand lost interest again, so I’m still left alone.
No problem with that, but as I’ve mostly lost interest in maintaining Buildd.Net myself as a more ore less direct result from m68k being dropped by Debian, there’s now a “time to need” vs. “time willing to spend” problem. Maybe I will be able to make the changes, maybe I won’t. But I’m open for suggestions what to do with Buildd.Net. I still think it’s a nice project/infrastructure which is helpful and worth to be actively maintained and developped…
