Wieder da!

Well, I’ve been playing around with my new N97 for some days now and so far I’m quite satisfied. Except for some minor things that annoy me. For example, the internet connection is lost when I’m going away from home and thus leaving my wireless LAN. Intead of silently switching to the next available network like UMTS or GPRS/Edge, the application or the phone states that it can’t reach the internet gateway.
Another annoying oddity is the default email app. Every time I reboot the phone (power off/power on) it’s nagging me to configure the email app. And it doesn’t seem to like strong (self-signed) SSL certs. This applies to ProfiMail as well. The app does ask if I want to accept the cert forever, but then it fails:

Aug 17 22:13:43 muaddib dovecot: imap-login: Disconnected (no auth attempts): rip=90.186.37.70, lip=192.168.0.1, TLS handshaking: SSL_accept() failed: error:140943F2:SSL routines:SSL3_READ_BYTES:sslv3 alert unexpected message

When I choose to accept the cert for just this session/connection it works perfectly.

Ah, and yes, ProfiMail seems to be way better than the default mail app.
