This morning the build of the Parma Polyhedra Library (ppl) finished on my m68k buildd:
buildd@spice:~$ head logs/ppl_0.10-4_20090228-2019
Automatic build of ppl_0.10-4 on spice by sbuild/m68k 98
Build started at 20090228-2019
Finished at 20090421-0636
Build needed 1231:16:23, 1342752k disk space
Yes, the build needed 51 days 10:16:23 on that 68040/40, mostly because the build needed some amount of memory that exceeded the available 64 MB. Nevertheless I’m not the only one that wasn’t very happy about the long build times of ppl as bug #517659 shows. It kept me away from shutting down the buildd for a long time to do the yearly clean up of the inner parts (removing the dust), but led to a rather high uptime as already reported. Now I can shutdown the machine for the clean up and attaching it to a UPS in the next days – after more than 510 days!
